Community Kindergarten
This week we did dug deep
into learning about our emotions. We read the book “The Mitten” and pretended
to be animals all squished inside a mitten. We then talked about how we would
feel if we were these animals. After reading, acting and discussing, we became
artists and drew self-portraits showing each emotion. We are so excited for you
to see our art work during parent teacher conferences! This week we also
learned about the letter V and practiced our Winter Celebration song.
French Kindergarten
This week we have finished
up our unit on body parts and are now learning all about Winter! We have also
practiced “singing” our Alpha’s together to see if we can phonetically spell
words.
In Math we have started learning how to “build number” using block, numbers, a number line and manipulatives. We are focusing on the many ways numbers can be represented and how there are many ways to show a number.

Information about the coulee walk:
Please make sure your child is appropriately
dressed for the weather with snow pants, winter boots, mitts and hats. We
have found it helpful for children to walk without their backpacks. This means we are asking for a “pocket
snack”, which is something simple like fruit, granola bars, cheese
strings etc… put into their coat pockets.
One of the activities in the coulee will be
listening to stories from a Blackfoot Elder named Saa’kokoto. He has
been a true gift to our school and we are excited for the kinders this year to
have an opportunity to meet him.
